Imagine this: an electric car that folds in half. The windshield lifts up, you climb inside, pivot the wheels, and drive sideways out of a parking spot. Parking is no problem. When you reach your destination, the car folds in half and locks into an electric charging station. It’s called the CityCar, and if it sounds like a Transformers action figure, well, there really is more here than meets the eye.
The MIT media lab wants to put racks of CityCars at train stations, bus depots, and airports around the world. Here to tell us more about the CityCar prototype is Ryan Chin, PhD candidate at the MIT media lab.
